Planting
Planting a garden is a delightful and rewarding experience, allowing creativity to be unleashed and creating a living canvas of colors and scents.
Choosing the right flowers is vital to ensure a stunning and thriving garden. We will consider the local climate and soil conditions to select flowers that will flourish naturally in your area. Native species are often a wise choice, as they are better adapted to the environment and require less maintenance.
Another crucial aspect is planning the arrangement and combining flowers that complement each other in terms of height, colour and blooming season. This ensures a continuous display of beauty throughout the year. We can select a mix of annuals and perennials to add variety and ensure that there's always something in bloom.
While choosing popular and well-loved flowers is tempting, experimenting with unique and lesser-known varieties can add a touch of individuality and surprise to your garden. Remember, gardening is an ever-evolving process, and each season brings new opportunities for growth and discovery in the colorful world of plants.
Our Process
RDC Landscapes offer a versatile service – we design, build and maintain gardens. We therefore tailor our service to meet your needs.
For reference, the process we follow from the first point of customer contact through to the completion of a garden build is detailed on this page.
On receipt of the initial customer contact, usually by telephone or email, RDC will take basic details of requirements and book for Ricky to visit the customer’s home.
During the first visit, Ricky will view the garden and discuss requirements in more detail. (depending on size and requirements, it may be possible to survey the garden during the first visit)
If required, we will book a return visit for Ricky and the team to survey the garden (a survey is required to enable us to design gardens to scale and to quantify for materials) (survey fees will be confirmed at time of booking).
If a design is required, RDC will confirm fees in advance and provide a design within the following timescales:
• Small Garden – 14 days
• Large Garden – 14-21 days
Once the design idea is agreed, RDC will provide a quotation within the following timescales:
• Small Garden - 7-14 days
• Large Garden - 14-21 days
Once the quotation is agreed, RDC will confirm a mutually agreeable date to start the build.
Payment is usually made in stage payments with an initial payment due once the start date is agreed, followed by staggered payments throughout the build and a final payment on completion of the works.
Ricky is on site throughout the build and therefore can provide daily updates on progress or we can arrange regular meetings to provide updates.
If the design specification is changed during the build, it may result in a change in the total cost. Any changes suggested by the customer or RDC will therefore be discussed, agreed and confirmed in writing.
Maintenance advice will be provided at the end of each project. We are happy to provide ongoing advice on any garden built by RDC.
RDC can be employed to provide seasonal maintenance to keep gardens looking at their best.
