From Cornwall to Chelsea - Welcoming a Show
The press are poised, the shirts are ironed and the participants are suitably nervous - the big day is almost here. Giving all due respect to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, not forgetting the players of Manchester United and Chelsea F.C. this Saturday is all about one thing, judging.
After 18 months of design finalised with 3 weeks of incredibly hard, but rewarding construction work, The Spirit of Cornwall show garden is nearly complete.
We have excavated, pumped, levelled, painted and planted all to get the space in perfect condition for show time.
The first visitors to experience Cornwall in Chelsea will be the all-important judging panel. Highly experienced horticultural experts, the members of the judging panel certainly know what a show garden should be about – and we are sure they won’t be disappointed.
After the judges, comes the next set of important visitors – the press. On press day, our garden designed for the arts will host its premiere performances. We are very much looking forward to welcoming the award-winning Constella OperaBallet as they perform live, showcasing dance and specially commissioned music by Leo Geyer. Art within art.
Finally, the public will be able to enjoy the space. Possibly the most important visitors of all, designer Stuart Charles Towner hopes that people will truly connect and identify with the Spirit of Cornwall. Created first and foremost as a garden space easily transferrable to any small domestic setting, he explains it is designed to inspire at all levels.
We’ve loved working on this project and are confident we’ve constructed a winner. Bring on the judging.
